After a long and very hot day I'm hanging out in my office which is the coolest place in the house to be right now. It's 11:00pm and 80 degrees, there's also a bird singing out back, it's so weird to hear a bird at night. It's content though and sounds like it's just chirping and singing because it can.
The days ahead are full, orders for two new stores, Etsy sales, custom sales, building the studio, yard work, the garden, cleaning house, answering emails, packing for a trip to the Sierra's, cleaning up after myself and tending to Simes.
I've been planting around the studio and trying to figure out what I really want planted there, something low maintenance I suppose. I bought an iron plant holder for my old wood utility cross arm that I planted on the side of the studio. I'll either hang a humming bird feeder, silver gazing ball or something really cool. Tonight on my way back up to the house I noticed my lavender is really blooming and the bees are happy!
I'm signing off, I'm finally pooped out. I hope I made any sense of this!

Cindy: The bird you heard was probably a mockingbird, since I think you live in California. I did a post about them on my blog:

There is even a link there if you want to hear them sing. I love to hear their songs. Your garden is beautiful, BTW!
I am in upstate NY and for the first time I have heard and seen mockingbirds all since spring. They were ususally a rare sight, I love their song.
Thanks SO much for letting me know what type of bird that is. It was eerie at first then I realized it wasn't our usual bird. We have a bird haven here with the little creek, berries and all of the flowers which bring BUGS!
Thanks again Doreen and Gardanne!
