On the closing of yet another state park due to the California budget crisis, the beautiful Emerald bay of south Lake Tahoe is one of many state parks on Arnold's list for closures.
While picking through my cabochons I found this beauty, the color of the waters that can be found along the shores of Lake Tahoe.
So in honor of the beautiful bay, "Tahoe's emerald" is born.
The focal is a 1" bezeled rich yet warm smokey mountain turquoise cabochon displayed by an ornate frame of heavy gauged sterling wire. This stunning piece hangs from a tri strand of textured and plain sterling chain attaching to the front of this bayish beauty.

The necklace is fabulous but OMG...I can't believe it, I was in Tahoe last week and spent a day around Emerald bay and then took a cruise around the Emerald Bay the next day......needless to say the views were beyond spectacular but I am saddened that people may not be able to enjoy the beauty to be had!
Hey Lady G!!! If you MUST vent I'm here to listen. We all know that closing state parks isn't going to save anything. Why would you close something that brings in revenue is beyond me.
As for the celebrity get away.... I was wondering when this would happen and I'm assuming it's with the Captain? ;-) Shall I purchase that kiddie wading pool and swimmies soon?

Yes indeed.... Lake Tahoe is a gem isn't it? We frequent the Sierra's and are blessed to live at the base of them. I think the parks are closing by summers end so if you get a chance, go back!
