Nest ~ a Saturday gathering

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Recently you've noticed my little Etsy shop is closed. In preparing for Saturday's event at "nest" I've closed shop so that I can focus on remaining orders and build new items for the big day.

Next week things around the Etsy home front will run differently. Custom orders will be accepted from existing customers only. If you're new and see something you want, please visit my shop and purchase something to see if you truly want something custom made for you, and if I have something you really want then we can discuss your order.

Unlike most fabricators, I don't have the tools that are used to speed up production, therefore I create most of my work by hand, filing one piece at a time. So please continue your inspirational words and keep in touch, I love the communication and support.

So with that said... Fingers crossed that the dry northern air and the temperatures that lack of any humidity what so ever will spare northern California (California period)!!! The only thing that WILL hinder this glorious day at "nest" would be wildfire, so in keeping the faith it's "Business as usual"!

peace and love and prayers for your show, also for the fire season.

autumn hit hard in my part of alaska. [alpine, 60 miles north of anchorage] snow almost to the base of the mountains after two days of non-stop rain. wish i could send some of this weather to you!

Cindy, I applaud and admire your new custom order system...I think that's a grand idea and a fine way for you to maintain your own purpose and vision for your work.

I also think you were just brilliant to take this week for the show preparation--oh, I hope you have a great time at Nest--sounds like so much fun--and maybe a somewhat relaxed atmosphere for a show???

Also sending prayers for good weather and conditions (meaning no fires)...your part of the country has had its share, that's for certain...a quiet fall would be nice!

P.S. Hi, Marie!

2 VERY SPECIAL comments from two of my most favorite people!

I appreciate your positive thoughts. Number one on my mind right now is the fire season, I've lost trust in our small town evacuation plan, grid lock is all that I can remember in last years fire. Nowhere to run... nowhere to hide.

Being the Fireman's daughter, I've learned to respect fire, NO ONE person can predict mother nature and second guess her strength.

Now, on to pleasantries... Yes, it's the "Gathering" this weekend and I'm very excited AND exhausted. Happy to have little Dana Jane experience her first season! I'll share weekend stories soon.

Fall? Isn't it still summer? hee hee.... still in the 100's here.

["nightshift logy brain" messed up her comment so she deleted it and re-wrote. (smile)]

since i'm new to the "at fallen leaf creek" family, i have to ask who dana jane is, is she daughter, niece, ??
so exciting to expand your workings to include younger minds and their very capable skills/hands.

with all that said, i am most pleased to be one of your "established" customers, cindy! [smile]

hearing horror stories on NPR about california fires. so i'm limiting info "input" to my brain, concentrating on the "output" to the Heavenlies and Mother Nature.

p.s. hello, caroline!

Thanks so much for all of the positives!

The wind has stopped and the birds are singing, must mean the storm is over! I hear cooler temps starting Sunday.

Carrie, Thanks so much for the well wishes, it's going to be a wonderful gathering at "nest" even if we don't sell one single thing. It's the company that I'll be keeping. Pure bliss is what I'll be basking in this fine Saturday then Sunday... doing a day trip to Oregon to have lunch with the Queen "Kathleen"! Can't wait.

Hope you're all having a wonderful day, now back to work for me!

Xo!
