Post gathering

Monday, September 28, 2009

The gathering was a beautiful day. After working 40 hours with no sleep, I managed to complete my showcase and have more than enough for the show. Meeting so many wonderful women who I enjoyed chatting, sharing stories and exchanging smiles. The day was an unseasonably hot muggy day but it didn't keep people from visiting "nest".

The very next day Mikaela and I took a drive to Ashland Oregon to meet my most favorite lady for lunch, Kathleen the Northwoods queen and her dear friend. Indeed it was a full weekend.

This weeks queue: filling store orders and preparing for the holiday season. Many new pieces to come and all made with joy. Here's to gratitude and being blessed with so many wonderful women out there, the women who continue to remain calm and carry on.

Thank you!

40 hours with no sleep????????????? Oh boy, I wish I could have helped....

How are you doing NOW??

Your post sounds wonderful, with so many blessings from so many directions...and that is fabulous! Good for you--you deserve it, and you blessed those other artists and your friends in countless ways, too, I just know it....

I love the photos of your silver jumble--looks like pirate treasure! :-) (I admit to being a "Pirates of the Caribbean" fan--the music just gets to me!) Seriously, it's beautiful--and your pieces resonate with amazing joy and serenity. I know...my soul begs to wear at least one cindyhoo adornment every day!

Feels like I'm still floundering, trying to find a balance...sometimes I THINK going 24 hours straight would help get some things finished...but 40??!?!?! Whew!

I hope these next weeks are joyful for you...NOT caught up in a rush and push, but each day enjoyed for the miracle it is.

I'm saying that for myself as much as for you.

Sending harvest hugs--we're about 90 percent done here, with no terrible frost yet! You should see the wheat piles!!! I'll try to send pictures--your bread BEFORE it's bread.

P.S. I like Marie's image of "heart's pockets." I'm going to embrace that idea....

Oh, my dearest sweet friends! What a ride it was. That was the longest I've ever kept my eyes open. I kept telling myself that I'm living life to it's fullest, but if I keep it up.... It will surely kill me!

With yawns and big sigh's while everyone was asleep, I stood hammering and listened to the dark just wishing for more strength. It was worth the time, I grew from it and swore I'll never EVER do it again! (I say this every year) *big smiles*

In hammering, I carried thoughts of you two and a few very special others in my life... it helped me through the night.

As I sit here on my respite throne, I'm watching my shop get it's roof top, Pictures to come!

~So much love to the both of you~

Oh, oh, oh--a roof makes the dream of a new building seem so much closer to reality! Wonderful!!

Every time I look at your pictures from this weekend, I smile all over again--all that silver! Did Simes accompany you as as bodyguard with all that treasure? :-)

Actually Simes stayed upstairs, we dog sat for a family member and he "Tyler dog" stayed with me all night. Simes was in his usual sleeping place. I wished he were there with me though!

Yes, there's a lot of silver in that pile and more where that came from.

:o) Working on more of my glass pieces, the glass that I so dearly love.

Hey Katyjane!
There's something about that pile of silver that draws one in, you know and I know but I just can't explain.

Yes, shelter overhead and a special place to call my own has been a longtime goal that is now reality. I'm in love with my new little abode. :-)

Thanks so much for your inspiring compliments, it means a lot coming from a fellow craftswoman. I admire your work as well.

Perhaps if I'm ever up your way we shall meet ;O)

Much love to you!
