SUNSET - Home safe, this is what was left of the long Sierra journey
This is where my heart opened up and my soul put it's mark on every single Aspen, rock and lake... I go to this place to reflect upon my life, the journey's that I've made and realizing who I've become and where I'm headed.
Pictures simply cannot capture the feeling one experiences when panning the majestic waterfall, the mountains and the lakes that truly are the Sierra's. The trip always begins with an overnight stop in Lake Tahoe, another place where in my youth, I've made my mark.
The drive down 395 has always been an enjoyable ride, a ride that I can never be sick of. Last year it was 9 degrees and snowing when we arrived to the loop, This year was 71 degrees and sunny, fishing was poor but I didn't care, I was there merely to surrender my burdens and enjoy the color that was bursting with pure bliss.
The Aspen once again, was performing their last dance and I stood there in awe.

Cindy, I'm scrolling through these photos over and over with awe....I don't even know what to say, except that I can see and FEEL why these places hold so much significance for you and restores your soul.
Thanks for sharing this goodness with us....thank you SO much.
Aspens always leave me breathless--they're such joyful trees, any season of the year!
And that sunset photo...and the reflecting lake photos...and...and...and....makes me want to see the Sierras......
Oh Caroline.... this place holds it's own magic. It has completely stole my heart, I just can't explain it. Silver lake has been on the cover of Sunset Magazine for it's fall beauty. A majority of the people are from southern CA (my roots) Firemen, Policemen etc. My Grandfather worked for the City of Anaheim which is where our family found out about this place 60 years ago (I wasn't even a twinkle then).
If you ever have a chance to come to Northern Ca... Please please please visit Tahoe, Yosemite and the June lake loop, you won't regret it EVER. I used to be a beach girl but the Sierra's stole my heart!
I'd love to visit the prairie too ;O)
Hi Cindy, What beautiful photos! I love the way you have processed them - very painterly. (potsrme/BookLovers)
stunning photos! :)
I'm determined to make this comment work this time lol.
Had to tell you that I LOVE these piks and in fact, I have chose one to to be the back-drop of my new portfolio page that I'm in the midst of creating from SCRATCH on intuit.....I may be bald the next time you see me but maybe not..it's a labor of love and I'm "enjoying every minute of it" as the song goes.
You MUST show me how to do these effects next time I'm up.
xoxo G the dream queen
Mrs. McGrath!
Surely you won't go bald, look at me... I still have hair and I've tried to pull it out while figuring the web thing out. It all works out and you will walk away with those lovely locks!
Mikaela and I were just discussing our next shop meeting. Once the creekhouse is complete we will be having good old fashioned United HealthCare meetings minus the spreadsheet of stress. All good and empowering. Doing a show at Grace Jr. first week of December so make that week open if you don't mind?
K... next time you're up here we have to discuss the future ;o)
My Love to you!
Simply beautiful my Dear and reflective of your most beautiful soul as well.
I am sure the trees and mountains were equally glad to be in your presence.
Roger that ;o)
