Looking around my surroundings and discovering treasures from sea shells to leaves and twigs. I've found new comfort and passion in casting. Natures bounty has offered a delicate limb (literally) a twig from a flowering tree captured last winter. A timeless piece, waiting to be worn by that one special person. Cast in sterling silver and painted in a natural patina preserving the natural look and character. The twig was made to look as though it was freshly picked on an early fall morning walk. Propelled between patinated sterling chain as delicate has the twig measuring 16" in length. A decision was made to keep this piece simple as to not take away from the focal point or beauty of this natural piece.

Local support

"Nest", a local boutique has carried my jewelry for the past 5 years. Pauline has offered not only support but a friendship, she's an incredible woman with an eye for design. Nest is filled with positive energy, it's a place that fills your soul.

Pauline and I will be featured on the front cover of the California postal workers magazine next month and if it wasn't for Pauline believing in my dream and promoting my work, I don't know where I would be today.

I'm grateful for the positive people that I've met in my life.

A big "Welcome" to a special Etsian!

Janet of "Indigo Rhino designs" from Longmont Colorado has opened shop. Her designs are of bold, brassy, colorful adornments for the neck and wrist. Adornments that speak volumes about the woman who wears them. Adornments that let your imagination run untamed. Adornments with their own names and stories.

You can see her work at www.indigorhinodesigns.etsy.com

"On the run" the queen has left the coop!

Yesterday we celebrated my sons 28th Birthday... I started the day raking the back yard and getting completely caught off guard. The bees were definitely out and offering their promise that springtime IS here! As I was raking I noticed honey bees flying all around me and in an army of abundance. I first thought they were yellow jackets since I was raking and knew there's a possibility of disturbing their nests in the ground.... then I realized there was a sound coming from above my head, I looked up and this is what I found... a queen escaped or the hive split and found our oak tree. This was the third time in my life to have experienced nature up close and personal in terms of honey bees. Awesome!

I've been busy working on other projects lately (besides custom orders). I recently started going to a casting session one night a week and am planning on adding different things to the shop. It all started when a friend asked me to make a necklace with some old coins that were given to her. They were doubloons from a sunken ship that were a few hundred years old. At that point I thought it would be fun to cast pieces in the image of old doubloons.
