Post gathering

Monday, September 28, 2009

The gathering was a beautiful day. After working 40 hours with no sleep, I managed to complete my showcase and have more than enough for the show. Meeting so many wonderful women who I enjoyed chatting, sharing stories and exchanging smiles. The day was an unseasonably hot muggy day but it didn't keep people from visiting "nest".

The very next day Mikaela and I took a drive to Ashland Oregon to meet my most favorite lady for lunch, Kathleen the Northwoods queen and her dear friend. Indeed it was a full weekend.

This weeks queue: filling store orders and preparing for the holiday season. Many new pieces to come and all made with joy. Here's to gratitude and being blessed with so many wonderful women out there, the women who continue to remain calm and carry on.

Thank you!

Nest ~ a Saturday gathering

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Recently you've noticed my little Etsy shop is closed. In preparing for Saturday's event at "nest" I've closed shop so that I can focus on remaining orders and build new items for the big day.

Next week things around the Etsy home front will run differently. Custom orders will be accepted from existing customers only. If you're new and see something you want, please visit my shop and purchase something to see if you truly want something custom made for you, and if I have something you really want then we can discuss your order.

Unlike most fabricators, I don't have the tools that are used to speed up production, therefore I create most of my work by hand, filing one piece at a time. So please continue your inspirational words and keep in touch, I love the communication and support.

So with that said... Fingers crossed that the dry northern air and the temperatures that lack of any humidity what so ever will spare northern California (California period)!!! The only thing that WILL hinder this glorious day at "nest" would be wildfire, so in keeping the faith it's "Business as usual"!

A new face!

Monday, September 14, 2009

I'm pleased to have a smiling little face around the shop. With the busy season ahead, focusing on orders, building the new studio, creating new designs and stocking up for the September gathering, I've decided it's time to have help around the shop.

Dana Jane, my new artistic side kick will now be helping out with the bead making and other fabrication tasks. She brings with her an eye for art and a passion for creating. In a few weeks Mikaela will be joining us and will also be lampworking, fabricating and designing. I'm so thrilled she'll be joining us and with both of my girls and the new shop on the way, the season is looking brighter.

This weeks new pieces are silver oak leaves. I'm offering a matching ring and pendant. If you're a nature lover then these pieces will captivate you. The camera doesn't capture the true beauty.

Also is an addition to my pearl line, a freshwater pearl blackened to insinuate the harvest moon.

Simple & feminine.

Yesterday was not only the most beautiful day of the year with it's deep blue skies, clear air and perfect temp, it was the day I've been waiting a long time for, The walls went up in the creek house!

The project started last summer after a contractor friend donated left over wood, I was planning on building shop made from 90% reclaimed materials. It didn't quite happen the way I had planned however, I'm very content. It's not an 8,000 sq foot shop but it's perfect for me and my helper (simes too). The best is yet to come, finish work and finding unique furnishings.
